COMMON QUESTIONS

How do I enroll my student?

You can enroll by visiting the How to Enroll page.

Who are the teachers?

Unlike most other virtual schools that hire third-party companies to teach courses, the South Bend Virtual School grades 9-12 employ teachers from the South Bend Community School Corporation. This ensures that students receive quality instruction as well as the ability to meet face-to-face with their teachers when necessary and interact with them in other ways. The Virtual School’s grades K-8 will also eventually employ SBCSC teachers as the corporation builds its pool of teachers. Until then, specially-trained online teachers from Edmentum will teach grades K-8.

Is Virtual School a commitment for the entire 2021-2022 school year?

Yes, families who want to join Virtual School will commit to virtual learning for the 2021-2022 school year and be taught by teachers who specialize in personalized, virtual instruction.

Is there a calendar?

The Virtual School will follow the traditional calendar schedule for the 2021-2022 school year.
